With 40 years of experience, the business is considered one of the oldest design firms in Western Kentucky. Since its origination, Ronald Johnson & Associates has consistently grown and diversified its agency to include specialties in the areas of: civil, mining, and safety engineering; government and environmental services; project management; land surveys; land development; and construction inspection. Although the firm is relatively small in size, the expertise and the commitment of its employees has created and maintained a successful company that is highly responsive to the individualized needs of its clientele. Renaissance Kentucky

The Renaissance Kentucky Program was initiated by Gov. Paul E. Patton, and has raised awareness throughout the commonwealth on the importance of revitalization of historic downtowns. Renaissance projects are coordinated through the Kentucky Heritage Council and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Since 1999, RJA has completed Renaissance Kentucky projects for the cities of Greenville, Dawson Springs, Cadiz, and Marion, Kentucky.

We are pre-qualified with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in roadway design, survey and construction inspection which meets the requirements of the Local Public Agencies Guidelines for FHA funded projects.

Safe Routes to School

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet administers the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) as outlined in the Federal Highway Authority’s Transportation Alternatives Program, formally TEA-21. RJA has completed SRTS projects in Greenville, Dawson Springs, Hanson and Cadiz. RJA is a pre-qualified firms with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for design and construction inspection for SRTS projects.

Surveying

The surveying department of Ronald Johnson & Associates offers a comprehensive range of surveying excellence. Mr. Thomas W. Crabtree is an active member of the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors and served as President of the organization in 2005. We provide both land surveying and engineering related surveying services.

In engineering related surveying we have completed numerous construction projects including residential and commercial subdivisions, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewage collection systems, water distribution systems, industrial parks, recreational parks, railroads and highways.

Our surveying crews are equipped with GPS surveying instruments capable of obtaining the high degrees of accuracy required by modern standards. The equipment that we use also has the capability of electronically collecting survey data for direct transfer to our computers for plotting.

The surveying personnel of Ronald Johnson & Associates are experienced in a wide variety of surveying projects including horizontal and vertical control for mapping and construction, boundary surveys, topographical mapping, flood plain mapping, flood plain profiles and cross sections for flood studies, lake contour mapping, route surveys for highways and railroads, and construction layout and monitoring.

Land Surveying services include: a wide range of urban, rural, and industrial applications. In addition, we are one of the oldest surveying firm in Western Kentucky.
